Concrete Crack Injection - crack stabilisation using injected epoxy resins - injecting hollow patches

Crack Injection - to treat delamination or hollowness, drill a 5mm - 10mm diameter hole into the crack every 100mm to the depth of the separation between layers. (hollow area). Inject Epoxy Primer or Thixotropic Injection Resin until it exudes from the next hole. Test for hollowness with a plastic hammer until the delaminated areas cease to sound hollow.

Epoxy Primer - available in 500cc, two pot, liquid.

Thixotropic Epoxy Injection Resin - available in 400cc, two pot, with cartridge kit.

Syringes - in 10, 20 and 50cc sizes.

Concrete Finishing - waterproofing coatings for concrete

Concrete Coating - to finish repairing a damaged concrete floor or wall, or to seal a 'bund' (to retain chemicals, oils etc.) you can apply one of two systems;

  1. Cement Based - Aquastop cementitious 'tanking' coatings are waterproof, but not complete vapour barriers. For some applications this is unimportant. The cement based system is easy to apply to damp and rough surfaces, requires two coats brushed out in different directions (to avoid pin holes) and is rapid drying. It has limited chemical resistance, compared with Epoxy.
  2. Epoxy Based - Ultra Epoxy Seal Coat has high chemical resistance, is a full vapour barrier, is easy to apply over smooth renders, screeds or 'tanking' layers. Higher cost than cement based systems and not so easy to apply over rough surfaces.

Cementitious Tanking - available in 25kg plastic tubs, powder, just add water

BondAcryl - available in 1.5, 5 and 25 litre plastic containers, add OPC (cement)

Epoxy Coating - available in 500cc, 2.5 and 5 litre containers, 2 liquids.
